Headset for Linebackers
I saw on Sportscenter yesterday the NFL is voting once again on wheather the middle linebacker or captain of the defense can have a communication piece in there helmet. It would be the same device Quarterbacks have in there helmets to recieve the offensive plays. It has been voted against for the last several years. I don't understand why teams dont want a defensive player to have a headset. With the patriots spygate for stealing signs from coordinaters this would elimate that ever happening again. Plus i dont see what the big deal is they already have it for the offensive why not the defense?

I think that it would be a good idea for the Middle Linebacker or the Captain on Defense to have a headset. The captain of the offense gets to have a headset, and that gives him a step up on pursuing defenses. Giving the Middle Linebacker a headset would even the odds out on the field between the offense and defense. I am very interested to see how this works out when it takes affect during the pro bowl. Hopefully they will put this in effect for next season, that way you will see the defense's become more advanced and high tech as the offenses are now.
