NFL Headset Approved

At the beggining of they year i blogged about how the owners and players union were going to vote on allowing the defense captains to have headsets in there helmets. The vote was passeed this week and two players on defense will get to have headsets in there helmet. The reason for two is because some players dont play every down during a defensive series. The vote was almost unamious this year, mostly from the patriots stealing signals i believe.

Sru Mens Lacrosse

This past monday i checked out the sru men's club lacrosse team, one of my roomates plays and starts for the team. They had an impressive game, but since the scoreboard was not running i cannot report the final score, however sru definatley completley obliterated the team they were playing from penn state behrend. I do not believe they gave up a goal. So far this year the team is undefeated. According to my roomate they are always ranked as one of the top club teams, which makes me wonder, why dont they make them a varsity sport, we have a varsity girls team who i believe is yet to win a game in there programs history (now in there second year), we could have elite varsity team for mens if the university makes it happen.

T-mobile dash

My one friend recentley purched the new t-mobile dash. It is really expensive at the price of 350 dollars but it comes with some great features. It is fully microsoft intergrated with word proccesing as well. It also comes with wifi internet so he can acess the full interent at any time. Also comes with a keyboard like buttons to make easy access for texting and instant messaging . It is a really cool phone, its just way to far out of my price range.

NCAA online

A really cool feature that cbs is offering this year for the NCAA tournament is all games can be viewed on the internet for free. This is a really cool feature because one it is free, many sites like espn360.com charge you to watch games online. It is great as well because people at work can watch the games during the day. The site even offers a button if you click it hides your game and goes back to your work screen to hide it from your boss. Finally it is great for people like my cousin who is studying this semester overseas in rome and cannot view the games any other way.

Fixing Arm Problems

With the start of spring training and my pirates gearing up for another unsuccesful season, i have been following what the new management is doing to protect there young pitchers arms. Any pirate fan knows the problem with pitchers the pirates often have had with three top picks having tommy john surgery. So this year all pirates pro and minor league will eventually go to alabama to a facility where the leading doctor for tommy john has created. All the pirates will throw while attached to electronic devices that will show them on a computer. The facility will be able to pin point any flaws in there mechanics and will look to show where the most stress is on the pitchers arms to hopefully prevent any more arm injuries. I hope it helps because if the pirates ever plan to contend they have to keep there young arms healthy.

Field Expierence

Today for my 274 Assesment Strageties we went to Neshannock Elementary School. It was really cool for the first time to get a small taste of what we are going to be doing someday. Especially since it culminated all that we had learned through out the semester and we got to use what we learned in the real world. We got to break the class into smaller numbers so we each only had 2 students which made it real easy. It was a challenge for me beacause of the two kids who was in the sixth grade could not read well and i had to help him through the self assesment. Overall it was a great expierence and look forward to more.

New Football Mouthpiece

Yesterday on ESPN outside the lines i watched a new piece of technology that may help NFL players. A new mouthpiece has been created by a company that may help reduce concussions. The new mouthpiece is much larger and thicker but it prevents your upper jam from slamming into your head. That is the main cause the company says is your upper jam hitting the bottom of your skull. Hopefully this new mouth piece can be succesfull and pro long the careers of all football players.
